Back to the city! / De volta à cidade!

(Português no fim)
Kaohsiung was a wonderful surprise for us! We only knew about the Lotus Pond (here) and nothing more. Maybe the reason we liked it so much was because we were missing the city, we love the beach but after one month of sand and sea we were happy to be back in the caos of a city, all the lights and streets and many things to do and see! We had a very funny experience has soon has we landed, the toilets! Squat toilets, despite very common around here, are new to us and pose some challenges with the kids. At first the kids couldn't believe we were serious about using them (check the video on Facebook) asking us 'who buried the toilet?' with a sense of being pranked by us, but soon it became normal and something to laugh at. At this point I think they even prefer this. Just remember, if you are taking kids to a squat toilet, to unload any unnecessary objects like chest pockets, cameras and anything that can fall on the floor...because you won't want it back.
We had the best experience so far with Airbnb, Danny (our host) is the best ever! Location is perfect, right on the Central Park MRT entrance and in the shopping district, several restaurants, shops and everything you need at walking distance. We even walked to Liuhe night market, although we liked the Ruifeng night market the most. It has more options, it's where the locals go and is much cheaper. Only one problem, it was all in chinese and no one spoke english, so ordering the foods was a little difficult. At the end we ate very well. Our days in Kaohsiung were spent walking around and enjoying the city. Off course that being in front of the Central Park was great. Do you know any kid that doesn't like a park? We walked around the Love River, in our opinion it's not very interesting. The city is very clean, very calm, no traffic and very easy to find your way around. We used the MRT everywhere, only 2 lines and all stations are both in english and chineses so it's difficult to get lost.
We had a little accident the night before we left when we were going to pack, the keys of the backpacks padlocks were locked inside the backpack. It took us a while to destroy it, we were starting to despair.
It's starting to get a little bit annoying all the chineses taking pictures of the kids and touching them. It's overwhelming. At the beginning we were nice and even told the kids to say hello, but now we just say no and push them away. This was one of the reasons we decided no to go to China on this trip.
